yes they are great i got a lizard a a water turtle look on my site at all my pets and think what would be best for you http://petworldmadness.piczo.com
i love my russian tortoise. very friendly, does not grow big and eats only leaves. this is a great website about tortoises: tortoisetrust.org
a leopard gecko is the best. they are the easiest and super cute.
the important thing is how much time do u have to take care of ur pet? then which reptile do u have to feed less amount of time? And is there any people that u know that if afraid of a curtain one & if anyone u know have any children? reptiles r just like children their behavior is unpreditable & u have to spend time with them to earn their trust. if u want a reptile that u have to spend least amount of time with them & u dont have to interact with them i would think that u need to get a mali uromastyx because they have a longer lifespan & they r harmless. They dont grow too fast & r active at day & sleep at night. Also they r very hardy reptiles.
YES REPTILES ARE GOOD PETS!! but they do need you're time, can be expencive and large reptiles will need a fare bit of room, but other than that they are the best pet to have. get a snake, small python of some sort($150+everything else) or a bearded dragon. i have a diamond python ($350) and hes my life pretty much!!
i have had a corn snake for about a year. I luv it. I handle it all the time & it seems to enjoy it. lol
But i agree 100% with toph. a snake would make a good pet. There not too jumpy when u handle them either like lizards can be(anoles). But be sure to handle it a lot so it wont get jumpy.
Edit: Snakes (as with any reptile to start out with im sure) r pretty expensive to start out with. But after u get everything u need there pretty inexpensive. Just feed it once a week or so, & change the bedding about once a month or so & ur good to go. =)
Good Luck!
If you're not afraid of snakes or squeamish of dead mice, a snake is the way to go. The best beginner snakes r California Kingsnakes & Corn Snakes. They r pretty forgiving of ''beginner mistakes'' & r good eaters. Pros about having a snake:
- Silent most of the time
- Only poop about once a week!
- Pretty much all u have to do is change their water, feed, & clean up after them. You could totally ignore them & they would care less (altough regular handling makes a snake a better pet)
Whatever u decide, PLEASE read up on basic care first, & by read I mean actual books, do not trust info only from websites or this site or ur snake could end up very ill or worse.
I really like my bearded dragon and I also like leopard geckos.
Yes, they are
I know a guy who has snakes at his house. Maybe you would like to keep one in a cage. Some are harmless.
